When life hands you grapes, make grapeade?
Yeah…it was one of those days. Less than ideal and I’ll leave it at that. Started out that way and ended the same. All events were unfortunately out of my control, with the exception of my outfit.
So, I did what any fashion loving control freak would do…I grabbed the grapes by the vine and made grapeade. Figuratively, of course. Literally I wanted to make wine, but at 8am, not really my thing. At 8pm, different story. Instead I stopped for a coffee.
When a wrench is thrown in my apple cart (I really love fruit today) I dress how I want to feel. In an effort to turn a situation or a mood around, I sometimes do that with an outfit. It usually works. Fashion to me is a form of self-expression. I wanted to feel uplifted so I reached for my new tweed J.Crew jacket and built an ensemble. Quickly.
While, yes there is A LOT of purple and variations of the hue, it really wasn’t too much–for me anyway. I tossed my belongings in a black Tory Burch tote just for good measure. If others were on purple overload, sorry if I came across as looking like Barney or Grape Ape. I did receive compliments so I guess some people were feelin’ purple as well today. It always makes me smile when someone appreciates an outfit. Fashion is art after all, so it’s all up to one’s interpretation. Love it or hate it.
I stuck with a muted–DUN DUN DUN…Purple…Stila eye shadow from the In the Moment palette. My new favorite eye product is Stila’s Periwinkle Blue liquid liner. It’s absolutely amazing and does last all day.
Being the Hermes fan that I am, I was happy to wear my ultraviolet CDC. I wanted to add a little pale pink with the Judith Ripka Three Stone Pink Crystal Ring. The stones have maximum sparkle and loving jewelry the way that I do, sparkle is always a good thing. The pink tourmaline earrings that I have on matched the colors in my jacket to a T! Thank goodness for small miracles as the earrings that I was originally going to wear are lost–they wouldn’t have matched nearly as well 😉
Great post! Love the colors…………..most of all love the pics with you smiling looking happy! Nice jacket and jeans………….of course love the bracelet! Incredible scenery, too! Looking fantastic!
I love these purple hues. The shoes are awesome and your outfit rocks. You are beautiful and your makeup is so pretty and fresh. You always have the best jewelry.
