Sunday Funday

Fighteing Eel Dress, Banana Republic Cardigan, J.Crew Statement Necklace, Hermes Geranium Gator CDC with Gold Hardware

One of my favorite things to do is drive. I love getting in the car and having no idea where the day will take me. Theses drives of mine are a tremendous stress reliever as I love to blare music and sing at the top of my lungs. I can’t carry a tune in a wheelbarrel and yes, I am one of those people that you are laughing at if stopped next to me at a red light. I’ve always been this way which is why I have never minded long drives to work–welcomed them actually. Oddly though, and for whatever reason, I don’t sing in the shower–only the car.

My husband and I are exact opposites on this. When he gets in a car, it’s with purpose. It’s almost as if there should be a detailed map of exactly where we need to go and what roads to take. I’m exagerrating a bit for sure and maybe I am odd in my need for this driving and relaxing–he sure thinks so. While I do plan in the day to day, my philosophy is why not be carefree when nothing is on the agenda.

Normally, on a lazy Saturday or Sunday, I can convince him to take these drives with me–and without a plan at that! Today we ended up on the North Shore of Oahu. It was a bit Chilly and rainy for the beach. Good thing I decided to layer as the sun decided to make an appearance after all. As I’ve previously mentioned yellow (most shades) has become my new favorite color. I jazzed up my outfit with a blingy purple and orange J.Crew statement necklace in case we decided to stop for a nice lunch or dinner. To tie all of the colors together, I wore purple shoes and added an orange-toned Hermes Geranium CDC.

I don’t remember what make-up I applied as I was just going with the flow.

  1. Love the bright yellow, it’s such a happy color and the contrasting, yet complementary colors in the necklace give a stunning overall look.

  2. Absolutely love the color yellow, I would have never thought of pairing a yellow dress with purple shoes. It looks beautiful…by the way where did you get the shoes?

    • The shoes are Nine West from a couple of seasons ago. Thank you very much for your kind words! And yes, do combine purple and/or blue with yellow, the contrast in color is very complimentary!

  3. I really love the bright yellow. It sparkles in the sunshine. I love all the neat spots you go to in Hawaii. Shows the island in a new way. That necklace design and color is beautiful!
