Today was all about the gemstones. Most days are as gemstones are among my most favorite things on earth, hence my blog name bluebelleGEM. While diamonds are beautiful, I favor colored stones most. Clothing ranks at the top of my list, but you’re never fully dressed without jewelry, oh and a smile which I suppose are one in the same.
J.Crew Blythe Blouses are my wardrobe staple. I have a few colors and I just love them to pieces. I wear them tucked in when my day calls for conservative attire and also tied for fun as I did today when I’m going casual. My skirt by Free People is wonderfully comfortable and oh so colofully rich. I took this outfit as the perfect opportunity to gem it up.
Today called for donning amethyst jewelry in excess–from rings, earrings, bracelets and even a necklace. Every single piece was solely amethyst or included it. As a stone known to calm and cool emotions, it brings one to a nice meditative state. I can always use a bit of relaxation. Not to mention, it’s a gorgeous stone with it’s varying colors and shades.
I started with my Jane Taylor stacking rings. I collect these and they are wonderful! The color combinations one can create as the various stones are interchanged and stacked is incredible. A new look all of the time! Rich purple Amethyst, Lavender Amethyst and Prasiolite which is a green amethyst, harmonized well with this latest ensemble. All of my Jane Taylor rings are set in 18k gold. The quality of her rings are unsurpassed. Check out her website at www.janetaylor.com
I added Debra Mack Jewelry gemstone bracelets also in Prasiolite and Lavendar Amethyst. Debra is a Hawaii based jewelry designer and her pieces are fabulous! Absolute gemmy creations that always brighten my day. I purchase her pieces at the Lily Lotus boutique which is a quaint and amazingly serene yoga store here on Oahu. I don’t practice yoga but I love to shop there as it’s not only for the yoga enthusiast and the clothing and jewelry selection is vast. Supporting local businesses as well as local designers is important to me. The Mala necklace, which are Hindu and Buddhist prayer beads, was also purchased at the Lily Lotus boutique and is a creation by another local artist, Maya Papaya Jewelry.
My druzy earrings are by Doolittle Jewelry on Etsy. Sandra is a New York City based jewelry designer and her pieces never fail to light up the room. I receive compliments everywhere I go when wearing her designs.
Make-up is all from the M.A.C. Archie’s Girls collection. The Veronica Spoiled Rich Eyeshadow Palette is the perfect combination of purples–run out and get it while it’s still available as I haven’t seen a purple quad this impressive in years. Lipstick is Daddy’s Girl and Lipglass is Mall Madness. Essie nail polish is Mint Candy Apple.
